Journal Information
- About this journal
The Journal of Cognitive Science (JCS) (http://j-cs.org), in conjunction with the International Association for Cognitive Science (http://ia-cs.org), is published quarterly by the Institute for Cognitive Science, at Seoul National University, Seoul, South Korea. The journal is devoted to the study of cognition, and makes efforts to increasingly develop scholarship on cognition through interdisciplinary approaches.
- Aims and scope
The journal aims to collate work of highest quality and significance within disciplines connected to cognitive science, including, but not limited to, philosophy, psychology, linguistics, artificial intelligence, neuroscience, aesthetics, anthropology, and education, insofar as it is deemed to be of interest to those who pursue the study of mind. In particular, we would like to encourage submissions that cross traditional disciplinary boundaries in both themes and methods, and hence those submissions and efforts that inform an interdisciplinary approach.
The journal showcases quality research, makes effort to facilitate the exchange of concepts, and illustrates the interdisciplinary work that represents the hallmark of the field of cognitive science.
Examples of work suitable for the journal include: developmental theories in cognitive linguistics; psychological phenomena and disease; mathematical models describing cognitive processing; cognitive development in educational processes; cognitive mapping of linguistic structures; cognitive interrelation with, and activation of, emotional processes; intelligence of animals and machines; philosophies of cognitive science.
Theorists who have published with the JCS include: Smolensky, Caramazza, Gentner, Chalmers, Thagard, and Déscles
